  A vibrant gift to brighten their day. This maranta leuconeura is a striking houseplant with dark green and lime leaves that have a deep red underside. It’s also known as a prayer plant, because its leaves fold up at night like praying hands. To help its patterned foliage shine, it should be kept in a bright spot and watered when the top two inches of soil feel dry. This tropical plant will love living in a humid room, such as a bathroom or kitchen.
